Nanny, Pa, and Aunt Tracy came to visit the newest grandchild - number six now - after work.
The hospital stay went quite well - apart from midnight blood pressure readings and 3 AM blood draws, of course. Daddy stayed in the chair in the room the first night, and Mommy and baby toughed it out the second night on our own. So many rules: keep the bassinette between you and the wall to prevent abduction, feed her naked to prevent SIDS, don't fall asleep with her or we'll take her away, keep the bulb syringe with you at all times.... worry warts! At least the OB on call understood - seems he had been told by my DR that I'm an old pro and don't need help :)
Aunt Sam and Uncle Jared came on Saturday...
And Michelle came to visit... Jennifer came later (no pic). Tere and Laurie from church came to visit in the afternoon - a respite from their own crazy worlds.
And these little visitors!
And the ever doting Pa and Memma...
Looking slightly yellow
The name game lasted until the end of day 2 - we knew we wanted her nickname to be Kate (and Mommy wanted Katelyn of some sort) but didn't like any of the spellings. Hate to say we "settled" but had to pick something. Greg is obviously better at picking out baby names than me - I don't make decisions. Imagine my surprise when the birth certificate lady comes into the room the minute I get into the shower - you don't leave daddies to fill out birth certificate information! He got most of it right - other than not mentioning his legal name correctly. And he thought it would be funny to say "Peyton" when her name was asked... only to laugh afterward :) . So Katelynn Marie it is!
Cuddles with Daddy...
Katelynn's Daddy insisted on this little orange dress. Didn't get it the first time he found it but actually got it when he was in California. I was never a fan, but Daddy insisted! Only to take them off and declare this was a dress for a Peyton and not for a Katelynn.
This was our real take home outfit - a little white dress.
So ready to go home. One can only watch so much Food TV after all. And two little people were ready to see their little sister at home! And Mommy I guess.
