Eleven Months Old

Happy eleven months sweet girl!

You are quite the little walker these days. Hop right up and down. Think it's hilarious when you trip over yourself. Mama seems to have been added to your list of words. Da (dog) was still your first. Which you continue to affirm constantly. See one in the picture book, Tobey or Maggie run by... Dada. Other noises but none of them super consistent.
You've spent these last two weeks with Daddy who didn't work. Some part-days in daycare... but lots of play time with Daddy. You two seem to have a new trip - high five and finger touches - picture ET with electric sounds (which you try to mimic). Sometimes you mimic the noises we try to teach you with your animal pictures - oo oo with the monkey, some attempted roaring with lions. Waving easily - slightest gesture that we may be going somewhere and you wave.
Nanny had to babysit you quite a bit this month. Another week with Nanny - another tooth. Now you're up to 10 including 2 molars. Crazy mouth full of teeth.
Quite the explorer and trouble maker. Anything within your reach is potential to be played with, pulled down, in the mouth, torn apart, and don't forget... climbed on. Did I mention your new skill at crying when we say no or when you don't get your way. As it - don't play with the computer, poke your hand in the fireplace (unlit - we do live in Houston), don't push the buttons on the DVD player, don't pull Mommy's food off the table and stain the carpet, don't dump over Daddy's drink and laugh at the mess, don't put your finger in the dog food bowl.

Pa and Meghan (and George) - you are very loved sweet girl. Four grandparents who adore you, four great-grandparents, great-aunts and uncles all over the place... the list continues.
Aunt Tracy bought this dress so we played dress up for her...
So tired after all of the driving. Many trips this month between all the Christmases. Tolerated it for a little while until it became screaming a fit when trying to put you back in it. Had to be surrounded be toys and Cheerios for hours of entertainment. Pretty good for the most part until it became dark - hard to entertain you in the dark. And don't forget the awesome, all time favorite kid CDs. Seems you like Latin rock too? :)
You are now (illegally granted) sitting in your big girl, face forward seat in Daddy's car. Now you think we need to entertain you while we drive even more than before.
We got this package in the mail from Nanny's mom - didn't take you long to figure out that it was food. Went straight in the mouth. Cute little tooth indentions in the cheese through the packages.
Liked the flashing little red nose Emu sent you.

Puppies. You love puppies. You pick up balls and toys from the floor (only the dog's toys) and walk up to the dogs and give them their balls. And assumed that the balls in your new basketball were for them too trying to give them to Harley, Paul's puppy. For the most part very gentle and take the toys from you, careful to avoid your little fingers. Sometimes you get plowed over, only thinking it's hilarious and giggling.
Doors are one of the latest fascinations... Until they latch and can't get them open. Your little mind just keeps working things out. Baby socks on the floor - hold your foot and try to put them back on. Mommy's sock on the floor - try to put it on my foot. Aunt Bobbie's shoe on the floor - never seen her with it on her foot but it's a shoe - try to put it on my foot. Hairbrush - brush my hair. Phone - hold it up to my ear (while pushing the buttons cause they make noise).
Climbing stairs. Very quickly. Go into another room quickly and when I come back, up on like the third step without hesitation. During crying time at church in OKC, I took you out into the lobby where there were several stairs. You climbed up them and spent some time focused on figuring out how to get down. Using your little toe behind you to figure out where it was... now you use the same skills to get back down pretty quickly.
Sitting in my chair which used to be Mommy's. Except now I climb into it and stand up on it. Fearless. You are fearless - and the people at daycare agree so it must be true. Throwing yourself off the couch. crawling under and through everything.
