Never Met a Stranger...

Some of my PA school friends got together Saturday morning... Haley is a baby hog all the way!  But Meghan sure does like her so I guess I'll let her keep on! :)  Note Josh's puppy in the background - seems my baby knows what dogs are (no matter how different they look from hers) and wants to play with them... Hope this doesn't get us in trouble one day!
Smiling at Haley

There's that silly looking guy again!  He sure does make me smile!

Thanks for all the help guys - I'm sure when ya'll have kids of your own you won't be as interested in mine... but until then, feel free to spoil her rotten!

Five Months, Three Weeks

Almost six months!  Mommy's still trying to balance working (and being worn out) with wanting to spend all her time with you.  This last week at day care, one of the owners (Iris) was changing you before I took you home.  And she said "I love you, baby" --- awww... How I still get teary thinking about it!  How many people are blessed to find a day care they not only like and trust completely - but know that their child is loved and cared for?
What a ham!
Daddy called me over for your pose earlier - this would be it.  I hadn't managed to capture it before - but here you are Sweet Girl!
Daddy won the blue eye debate!
Lots of play time on the floor - and very mobile.  Still working on the crawl idea...  rock, rock, rock... whoa my head is heavy... propelled forward by momentum... flat on tummy... get up and go again.  You also sees your belly button as a center point and just rotate around it... Definitely not hindered by anything.  Won't be long!  Already baby proofing the house since you like to very happily pull magazines and books off the coffee table shelf...

Man, Mommy looks sleepy!
Still not much stranger anxiety going on - charms everyone within reach.  A little hesitant with Melinda the other night... but got over it very quickly.  My happy baby even manages to grin while crying occasionally - wouldn't dare be sad!
I keep trying to get a pic of those little teeth on the bottom - you show them all the time and then hide them for pics.  Feeding was actually successful tonight.  Wish I knew why.  I was just saying to Greg that you really need to figure this out or you'll be hungry all the time - as you seemed to be a large part of the weekend.  And then tonight, mushed up some of those baby bananas, you fed yourself (with guidance), and seemed to be loving it.  Maybe need to buy more of those or stop mushing everything to a pulp.  Maybe you just have a sensitive gag reflex like me - don't like slime!  Too young for Cheerios?
This top photo is directly related to the one below - you love when Daddy plays Guitar Hero.  You just grin the whole time.

This time next week, baby Meghan, you will be in Colorado for the first time!  You're very excited I can tell.  Finally get to use all those warm clothes!

Baggett Bday Bash

Nate is very loving to little cousin Meghan - the topic of the day seems to be "when are ya'll going to have another one" - seriously people. Does it never end?  Anyways, ya'll should have seen Nate's eyes light up when Pa asked him is he wanted a boy cousin... He already seems to know the difference.  Give it some time buddy.
The fam reunited again - we really don't see each other THAT much - just always makes the blog cause I take pics :)  Melinda and Pam have bdays this week, two days after me (and a year)... So, I am officially 27 tomorrow.  Still not as old as Greggo though! :)  And I never will be! Ha! :)

Nate - he behaved very well, Sam!
Melinda finally got Nate to do some cuddling - sorry, Pam. Guess you didn't get a pic taken, huh?

Showers with Daddy

Laziness kicks in occasionally, and the kid gets thrown into the shower with one of us... She's long outgrown her sink tub, but our aging backs have yet to give in to hunching over the tub.  She does enjoy the water!

Star of the Show

Little Meghan got to reunite with some of my PA friends this weekend during her first coffee house experience... Not the best pics necessarily, but they don't check the blog anyways :)  For the rest of you classmates, lets just laugh at them behind their backs!  Mini Meghan, sorry to say Isabel and Big Meghan, did seem to prefer outgoing and crazy Josh.  Might just have been the hairy face - so don't take it personally.  She talked about all three of you the whole way home.

5 1/2 Months

We do like to nibble on our toes... slobber all over those things!

I have no doubt the next post will be of crawling....  she's just recently in the last few days pulling up on her arm and legs (belly off the floor) and doing the rocking thing!  And almost sitting up all the way.  She actually can do a little sit up and pull herself up given enough reason to do so.  Until then, lots of laying on the floor and entertaining herself with all her toys.  She's very good at playing with herself although she does look around for Mommy and Daddy every once in awhile - and not so patiently want some attention.Meghan's become quite the cuddler.  Since daycare broke her of the paci, we're still trying to figure out the best method to get her to go to sleep.  Bottles sometimes.  Paci really not at all.  Sometimes throws an out-right hissy fit, and we don't know how to calm her.  But she does actually sleep on your shoulder and cuddle for extended lengths of time - which she never did before.  Gotta cuddle while she's still willing, right?  Thankfully, stranger anxiety has yet to kick in... maybe she'll just never enter that stage!
We're still struggling with a snotty little nose - Mommy gets a sick pleasure out of wiping off the dried boogies and baby sure does not!  Typical baby who wants dried snot on her face.  Not really too sick though so that's good... just snotty.
Baby girl does decide to start talking - especially if she's being ignored.  Usually happy and smiles up at you.  Very happy baby!  Still not sleeping consistently through the night - some are better than others for sure.
See our two little teeth - although she sure doesn't look too happy for Nanny to pry her mouth open so we can see them.  Still not wanting food... stubborn kid I think.  This weekend we put her in her chair at the dinner table and let her play in her chair while we ate.  Maybe slowly this can show her high chairs don't necessarily mean screaming fits and mean people shoving food in her mouth.  Gradual?  She'll eventually have to eat or she'll look funny going to kindergarten with her bottle.  One of the books I have said to start her on a sippy cup even this young - any thoughts on that?
Like her Daddy, a la nude is still her preferred way to live life!

Daddy makes us laugh a lot!  He (and Tracy) swear she knows how to give kisses and pulls in your face to her.  Even puckers... I have yet to see it or recognize when she's doing it to me, but they seem convinced.

Our Little Firecracker

It occurs to us that we have yet to be at our house for the 4th.... we exciting bunch went to the Houston grandparents for the traditional homemade ice cream, hamburgers...
And happy 39th to my parents!
Happy baby in her 1$ Target tee (looking a little like a little boy - I admit)
Standing up on the chair to look at Nanny - only minimal toosh support from Daddy
Note: Pa couldn't hold baby girl due to recovering from surgery - you could sure tell he wanted to though - recovering nicely though... Dr. Bob to the rescue :)
