The Big Move

We bitter-sweet-ly moved out of our first home in October to move into a temporary apartment until the new house would be built. Amazing to think that when we moved into the house we were four years younger, I was fixing to start school, and we were planning on being in the area only temporarily (possibly)... Here we are now. Both employed in jobs we love, two wonderful kids, and stuck in Houston :) . Don't forget - Tobey and Maggie... the same as when we moved in... hairier and blinder... still loud.

Big empty house. We went by one last time - the whole "here's the old house, here's the new house" thing for Meg. We drove out of the driveway (with a few snuck tears on my part), and Meghan said, "Where Meggie's house go?".

Goodbye first room
Ready to help pack up the house with Memma and Pop. And trying to stay busy.
Very good at drawing on and stickering boxes before going out. Amazing, this child looks so much younger than the one who moved into the house - only three months later...
Missed the cute pic of Meg trying to hand up the bear to Dad. It was a bit too heavy, but she was trying to help.

Staying busy with the watering pitcher.

Greg's sad face for his last meal in the house

And then the new house - we got to move in on January 15th after apartment living for 3.5 months. Very eager to be able to open the blinds and not feel like everyone walking by four feet outside the walls could see in. Although we were spoiled with a really nice apartment. Too bad it was winter, and we never got to try out the fancy salt water pool we paid big bucks for.
We had tons of help for packing up and moving... and none of it captured on film of course! We hadn't managed to get much packed at the apartment - too many little helpers running around. Thankfully, the moms were agreeable to my throw-it-in-and-drive plan.
And Meg was more than willing to help clean of course!
Let's go see your new room! Nanny always there for some quick squeezes... worked their booties off these guys. We managed to get most stuff unpacked within the first week. Just don't look upstairs, or you'll find the truth!

Oh, Aunt Tracy we love you!
Very willing to help Pop put together the table... Love those tools. And the outfit was put together during the unpacking, of course.
